MOLUCCAN NEIGHBOURHOOD

During the candidacy of Maastricht and the Euregio for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2018 all neighborhoods were asked to organize a “Neighbourhood Day” with the theme “De buurt kleurt 2018”. The purpose of organizing these Neighbourhood Days is to bring the candidacy to the attention of local residents, to let them show “their neighbourhoods colors” and to publicly display their support for the candidacy. The neighborhoods are as it were the standard-bearers of culture and every neighbourhood will present a flag within that symbolism itself. The flag will be handed to Office VIA2018 during the event. The Office VIA2018 is the the agency that Maastricht and the Euregio has nominated as a candidate for European Capital of Culture in 2018. 4Foot8 designed the flag for the Moluccan Neighbourhood. The flag was presented on July 3rd, 2013.
